2 day BC Motion Picture Industry Orientation Certification workshop. This course has been developed as an introductory awareness and education program for those wanting to work in the film industry. It will offer insight into how the industry works, encourage self-awareness for suitability, outline the screening process for entry-level positions, and provide functional skills necessary for finding employment in the film and new media industries. Participants will receive information on the structure of the industry and the diverse jobs within it, the stages of production, training and union certification, set terminology, basic safety, code of conduct and behavior on set.
Most of the film labour organizations in British Columbia require completion of this course as a prerequisite for work. Please note that this course is offered as an educational tool and does not guarantee employment.
