NEW “Creative BC” Agency

April 05 2013

Dear Colleagues,

We are writing to provide an update to the recent announcement by the provincial government that BC Film + Media and BC Film Commission will become Creative BC. As described in that announcement, the new agency will work with creative industries in the province to develop and implement a broad strategy capitalizing on the sector?s strengths and identifying new opportunities for the future.

As President and CEO of Creative BC (www.creativebc.com), Richard Brownsey will oversee all activities of the organization, including tax credit administration, film commission services, and all programs aimed to further the growth and development of BC?s creative industries sector. After twenty-five years of service to the motion picture industry, BC?s Film Commissioner, Susan Croome will be retiring.

Combining services previously available through separate agencies means that you can expect to receive continued, seamless assistance from the people you are used to dealing with, all under a single banner. The team will continue to offer a full range of industry programs, location and production services, tax credit administration and industry expertise. Effective April 15th, the BC Film Commission team will re-locate to 2225 West Broadway in Vancouver. We are committed to ensuring uninterrupted client service during this transition.

We thank all of our valued clients and stakeholders who have contributed to the growth and success of the creative industries in British Columbia, and we look forward to continuing to be of service in the future. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Richard Brownsey at 604 730 2233 or rbrownsey@bcfm.ca

Sincerely,

Richard Brownsey Susan Croome
